After probation, notice is normally one month from either side, or three months for Manager grades and above, unless the contract states otherwise. This is never less than the statutory minimum notice the employee is entitled to. Employment may also end by reason of capability, conduct, redundancy or some other substantial reason, following a fair procedure.
Employees with two years' continuous service who are made redundant are entitled to statutory redundancy pay calculated on age, length of service and weekly pay, in addition to notice and any accrued but untaken holiday. The Company consults with affected employees and their representatives, considers suitable alternative employment where available, and applies a fair, objective selection process.
Leavers are asked to complete an exit interview and return Company property. References are provided where the Company chooses to, factually and in line with its reference policy. Employees have the right to be accompanied at hearings concerning their employment status.
