Private medical insurance is provided for UK employees from day one, with the option to add family members at the employee's own cost. The benefit is a taxable benefit in kind and the Company reports it to HM Revenue & Customs as required. Employees should continue to use NHS services for emergencies and routine care.
Life assurance is in place for permanent employees and pays a multiple of basic salary to the employee's nominated beneficiaries. An employee who becomes permanently unable to work through illness or injury may be referred to occupational health and considered for ill-health retirement where the scheme rules allow, as well as for suitable alternative roles.
Work-related injury or illness should be reported to the manager and HR on the day it occurs and recorded in the accident book. The Company maintains employer's liability insurance and reports specified incidents to the Health and Safety Executive where the law requires it.
